Capt. Ted Lund, former editor of Salt Water Sportsman, is bringing his company, Over Under Sportfishing to Key West, FL.
The location will feature four boats, including a 46-foot Whiticar named Pretty Work, a tournament-rigged vessel that offers anglers a chance to tackle big game fish such as wahoo, tuna, and swordfish.
In addition, two outboard center consoles allow anglers to enjoy light-tackle fishing for cobia and yellowtail closer in to the Key West island chain. Shallow-water anglers will enjoy pursuit of bonefish, tarpon, permit and other flats species aboard an 18-foot flats skiff.
Lund is a highly experienced light-tackle and charter captain, and will also take on the public relations and marketing for the entire company. The operation also owns an interest in Mirage Sport Fishing Boats in Gainesville, FL. Read the rest of this entry ?

With 50 percent of the annual stone crab harvest coming from the commercial fishermen of the Florida Keys, crab season is now open.
The crab harvest is considered a renewable resource. After removing a legal claw the crabs are returned to the water and grow new claws three to four times in their lifetime;thus, the industry appeals to the environmentalist in all of us.
Prices for stone crab claws appear to be good as an abundant supply of crabs is expected. Stone crabs can be found for sale at retail outlets and restaurants throughout the Florida Keys and many parts of inland Florida.
